North Loop boutique Story & Teller is closing its brick-and-mortar chapter after nearly a year.
Owner Rachel Cafferty recently announced that Story & Teller is exiting its storefront after Feb. 23, its last day open, due to financial reasons. After that, the shop’s remaining inventory will be available for purchase online.
Caffery opened Story & Teller last April, selling hand-selected home goods by makers from around the globe. She also rented products from the store for photoshoots and offered interior styling, home staging, and organization help.
“I’ll be shifting focus to my design and organization services,” Cafferty said in her announcement. “I’m eager to collaborate and help bring your visions to life in this way that allows me to continue to scout for refined, well-made goods, plus weave in more vintage and secondhand finds.”
Shortly after launching Story & Teller, Cafferty assembled a directory of women-owned businesses in the North Loop and started hosting a monthly event called Women-owned Wednesday. She was also involved in other events intended to encourage people to shop small around the neighborhood.
Story & Teller is hosting several in-store events for what it’s calling "Finale February.”
