Daniel del Prado’s pizzeria in Southwest Minneapolis is expanding to Northeast’s Nicollet Island-East Bank neighborhood.
Rosalia is slated to open next spring at 333 E. Hennepin Ave. in the Rafter apartment building’s last available retail space, according to a Monday post from Element, which represented the landlord in lease negotiations. Eddie Landenberger of Assembly was Rosalia’s broker.
The new restaurant near Surdyk's, Whitey's Old Town Saloon, and other neighborhood haunts will have exclusive use of an adjacent 925-square-foot patio, an Element representative told Downtown Voices.
Rosalia serves wood-fired pizzas, salads, desserts, cocktails, and Italian wine.
Del Prado launched Rosalia in late 2020, his third restaurant after Martina and Colita, all of which are located in Southwest. The Argentina-born chef is also behind Porzana and Flora Room in the North Loop, Blondette in the Rand Tower, Cardamom at the Walker Art Center, Dexter’s in Southwest, and a handful of other restaurants around the Twin Cities.
As Element points out in its post, the Nicollet Island-East Bank neighborhood continues to cement its reputation as a culinary hotspot with old standbys and new additions, including Parcelle and WildChld, both owned by Kamal Mohamed of neighboring StepChld, and Silver Fern.
Saturday Dumpling Co. is expected to open a couple of blocks away at 519 Central Ave., the former Glam Doll Donuts space, in December.
