Thr3 Jack has been replaced by Five Iron Golf, a similar concept with a quickly-growing footprint across the country, in the North Loop.

Five Iron is now operating at 729 N. Washington Ave. after the entertainment golf chain acquired Thr3 Jack for its first Minnesota location.

Thr3 Jack launched inside United Properties' Nordic development, where North Loop Galley is also located, as an upscale sports bar with six golf simulators and a chef-driven New American menu in 2019. Thr3 Jack announced on Instagram in October that it was closing for renovations and holding a grand reopening in December.

Five Iron has grown to almost 30 locations in major U.S. cities since its 2017 New York City debut, plus some franchises in Dubai, Australia, Singapore and India, according to the North Loop Neighborhood Association.

Five Iron plans to preserve most of Thr3 Jack's interior design throughout the 9,000-square-foot space, while upgrading it with Trackman simulators and Callaway clubs.

“While Thr3 Jack has done a fantastic job with their restaurant and casual golf offerings, we’re excited to bring the performance side of the business to life,” Five Iron cofounder Jared Solomon said to The Golf Wire.

A company spokesperson told the North Loop Neighborhood Association that Five Iron is for serious golfers.

“We open at 6 a.m. for people to come in before work, hit a few golf balls and look at all the feedback on their swing,” the Five Iron spokesperson said.

Five Iron offers optional memberships, private lessons, and coaching to golfers. The new North Loop location will also host competitive league nights, private parties, and corporate events.
