There are few amenities missing from the North Loop. Surprisingly, the downtown neighborhood doesn't have a dedicated ice cream shop, but that will change in just a couple of weeks.
Treats Cereal Bar & Boba is slated to open Saturday, March 16 on the ground floor of the new Intersect apartment building at 316 N. Second St.
This is Treats’ third location. You can also find Treats on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, where siblings Trisha Seng and Minh Dinh launched it in 2019, and in Blaine. A new Mall of America outpost is expected to open in late spring on the third floor, which will bring the count to four.
Seng told the North Loop Neighborhood Association that many of Treats’ existing customers live in the North Loop, and they said to her and her brother what an “amazing” addition Treats would be to the neighborhood.
Treats serves ice cream infused with breakfast cereal like Froot Loops and Lucky Charms, plus a variety of teas, smoothies, coffee, and waffles.
Another storefront within the new Intersect apartment building will be occupied by a home and lifestyle retailer, Story & Teller, expected to open April 1 next to Treats.
Treats will give away a free menu item of choice to the first 50 people who visit the new North Loop shop after its doors open at 11 a.m. on March 16.
After that, Treats will open daily at 8 a.m., with a focus on coffee in the mornings.
