Another free outdoor festival is coming to the North Loop this summer, and it's assembled quite the local musical lineup, including legendary Bunkers house band Dr. Mambo's Combo.
Butcher & the Boar will host its inaugural Backyard Bash series on July 20 and Aug. 17 from 12-10 p.m. in the parking lot outside of the restaurant at 901 N. Third St. The events will offer live music, games, drinks, and summer barbecue favorites, like ribs, brats, and pulled pork sandwiches.

Saturday, July 20:
- 1-2 p.m. – Sammie Jean
- 2:30-3:30 p.m. – Al Church
- 4-5 p.m. – Funky Spuds Brass Band
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. – LA Buckner & Big Homie
- 8-10 p.m. – Alex Rossi & Friends
Saturday, Aug. 17:
- 1-2 p.m. – Brotherhood of Birds
- 2:30-3:30 p.m. – BZ3 Organ Trio
- 4-5 p.m. – Jillian Rae
- 5:30-7:30 p.m. – Jaedyn James
- 8-10 p.m. – Dr. Mambo’s Combo
Butcher & the Boar owner Jester Concepts already knows how to throw a big shindig, having held the Borough Block Party in the North Loop for a decade.
The Backyard Bash events are both family- and dog-friendly.
