AxeBridge Wine Co. is closing its tasting room in the North Loop at the end of June.

AxeBridge announced on Thursday that it’s shifting operations to Waconia, where owners Aaron and Ashley Schram operate Schram Vineyards, which supplies AxeBridge with grapes for its wine. The Schrams opened Schram Vineyards in 2013 and AxeBridgein March 2021.

There’s already another business in line to take over AxeBridge’s space, according to the announcement, and it will keep Axebridge’s wines on its menu.

AxeBridge posted this message announcing its closure on social media on Thursday.

AxeBridge’s name is an homage to the steel bridge that’s outside of the urban winery and the lumberjacks that used to inhabit the North Loop.

AxeBridge is located at 411 N. Washington Ave. It’s open Wednesday and Thursday from 4-10 p.m., Friday from 2-11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 12-6 p.m. until June 30.
